Classic Million Dollar Pound Cake has been around many years for a good reason. Its crusty but silky smooth slice is always welcome.

Yields16 Servings

 3 cups sugar
 1 lb butter, room temperature
 6 Nature's Yoke duck eggs, room temperature
 4 cups all purpose flour, sifted
 ¾ cup whole milk
 2 tsp vanilla
 1 tsp almond extract

Preheat oven to 300 F. Butter and flour tube pan, shaking excess flour off. Set aside.

Cream butter and sugar together for five minutes. Add duck eggs, one at a time, blending after each egg.

Add sifted flour alternately with milk, mixing well. Add vanilla and almond flavoring and blend well. Continue mixing for two minutes.

Bake for 1 hour and 40 minutes. Test with cake tester or toothpick; if needed, bake 5 more minutes. Remove immediately from pan; cool for 2-3 hours.
