Drain corn, reserving liquid.
Add enough milk to corn liquid to measure 1 cup.
Combine egg, milk mixture and corn. Set aside.
Stir together flour, baking powder and salt. Add to egg/corn mixture.
Mix just until moistened.
Carefully drop batter by tablespoons into 3 or 4 tablespoons of hot oil; cook about 2 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Drain on paper toweling.
